The PSP, which goes on sale Thursday for $250 and plays movies and music as well as addictive, engrossing video games, may be a marvel of sleek functionality, but, just as critically, it showcases even sleeker design. I disembarked at Lexington Avenue instead and walked back, largely oblivious to the curses of other pedestrians as I feinted left and right on the sidewalk in my efforts to land the ultimate slam-dunk in the game I was playing, “NBA Shootout 2005.” I knew I was hooked on the most anticipated gadget of the year, the PlayStation Portable – or PSP to its friends – when, riding the subway home, I tore my eyes away from the 4.3 inch screen and realized I had overshot my stop. ![]()
